FAQ
How many different types of oil does a car need?
There are four different types of motor oil: conventional, synthetic-blend, high-mileage oil, and full-synthetic oil.
How much oil must I put in my car?
Typically, cars require between 4.7 and 7.5 litres of motor oil, but each engine is different, so it’s best to look at your owner’s manual. How much oil does it take to fill car?
Is it okay to change your own oil?
It’s a great thing to learn to do, as it’s a relatively easy and economical way to get your hands dirty and learn more about your vehicle. Changing oil is the simplest regular maintenance to perform, and once you’ve done it for the first time you may never want to pay a shop to do it again.
What is the most common Industrial Lubricant?
The most common industrial lubricants primarily consist of a base oil and are either mineral-based, synthetic, or vegetable-based. Additives are also added to the base oil to optimize the properties of the lubricant. Another form of lubricant, grease, is made by combining a base oil with a thickening agent.
Is it ok to hose down a car engine?
It is very safe to wash your car engine with water as long as you take the necessary precautions.
What happens if you get water in your car oil?
Water in the oil – coolant leak due to non-watertight seal (cylinder head gasket etc). If this happens, there is a leak and water is getting into the oil. Water in motor oil can cause serious damage to your engine – the oil will be denatured and no longer effectively cooled.
